NFCC Member and COA Accredited
Our organization is affiliated with the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), the longest-serving credit counseling organization in the United States and Territories. As members, we offer proven solutions to improve the financial health of individuals and families. NFCC guarantees Consumer accreditation, counselor certification, financial integrity, and other fundamental policies that ensure the quality of service for all of our customers.
We are accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), an independent organization that monitors and validates the quality of the services provided to consumers.


Our Mission
To guide and educate consumers in the responsible management of their finances so they can achieve their financial goals by providing them with professional and confidential counseling, regardless of sex, color, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or income.
Since our founding in 1990, we have helped thousands of consumers achieve financial resilience by providing them with tools to cope with economic emergencies, job loss, and manage their debts without compromising their stability. Our Consumer-led participants learn from each experience and adapt with ingenuity and foresight.

Housing
Are you facing foreclosure, seeking rental assistance, considering a reverse mortgage, or looking to buy a home? HUD-CERTIFIED counselors provide support for managing housing challenges.
Advisory
ON BANKRUPTCIES
During the guidance, a certified CONSUMER counselor will assess your personal financial situation, discuss alternatives to bankruptcy, and help you create a personal budget based on your resources and needs.

Debt Management Program
The Debt Management Program (DMP) is reserved for consumers who are going through a financial crisis and are behind on their debts. It is a real alternative to avoiding the possibility of having to file for bankruptcy.

At Consumer PR, we are committed to providing reliable, accessible, and high-impact financial guidance for the Puerto Rican community. As part of that commitment, we are part of the GreenPath Financial Wellness network, a nonprofit organization that has been offering free expert advice since 1961. Whether it's creating a budget, managing debt, or charting a path to buying a home in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Eugenio M Alonso, President
Over 50 years of experience in financial institutions and non-profit entities.

Rafael L. Llompart, Secretary
Over 50 years of experience in academia and Professor Emeritus of the University of Sagrado Corazón.

Arturo Carrión, Treasurer
Over 60 years of experience in financial institutions.
Management Team

David Flores, Executive Director
David provides strategic leadership for Consumer, ensuring the organization stays aligned with its mission and the priorities of the Board of Directors.

He leads growth efforts through strategic business planning and builds strong relationships with the board, community partners, and other key stakeholders. In addition, David fosters close collaboration with Consumer's parent organization, GreenPath Financial Wellness, to support shared goals and maximize impact.
He graduated from Touro College's Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and earned his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, where he was part of Coach Izzo's basketball program. This experience allowed him to develop a valuable repertoire of basketball stories and analogies that he continues to use today.

Ana M García, Deputy Director
Oversees the development and operation of all Consumer programs and services. In addition, he acts as a liaison with the Board of Directors, supporting their communications and activities.

He oversees the Consumer team and coordinates with the various departments of GreenPath to align strategies, objectives, initiatives, and activities as appropriate. He is also responsible for the comprehensive performance and development of the team, as well as the analysis and preparation of reports on departmental objectives, the operating plan, and the budget.
He possesses extensive experience in the financial and banking industry. He holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico.

Alba N. Torres, Quality Control Manager
It ensures that all products and services offered by Consumer meet quality standards and customer service expectations, in accordance with the criteria of Performance Improvement and Quality.

(PQI) established by the Accreditation Council (COA) and other relevant regulatory agencies. His 31-year career at Consumer has enabled him to develop an in-depth understanding of the organization's operations.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Management and Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Yesenia Otero, Client Services Manager and Certified Counselor
He oversees the Customer Service area, from the team that answers each customer's first call to the staff that guides and supports those who work to achieve their financial goals.

In addition, she is a Certified Counselor with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), so she has extensive experience in client counseling and financial resilience.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Barranquitas Campus. He has more than 28 years of experience in banking, management, and finance. For the past 18 years, he has held various positions at Consumer and currently serves as Manager of Customer Service and Counselors.
