What is pre-bankruptcy guidance?
During this session, a certified counselor will assess your financial situation, review your income, expenses, debts, and assets, and explain alternatives to bankruptcy. It will also help you create a personalized budget and set realistic financial goals.

Counseling Session
At CONSUMER PR, we offer a pre-bankruptcy financial counseling session to help you understand your financial situation and explore alternatives to bankruptcy. This guidance is conducted by a certified counselor and is designed to provide you with clarity and support during times of financial hardship.
The documents required in order to receive comprehensive guidance are:
- Evidence of your income: Paycheck stubs or bank statements.
- Your most recent credit card statements.
- A list of your creditors' names, balance, and monthly payment.
- Your personal loans, mortgage and/or car documentation.
- Receipts for your monthly expenses: water, electricity, telephone, cell phone, etc.

If you wish to receive guidance by phone, we need you to send us information prior to arranging the appointment. Please fill out the Guidance Application and then download the following documents:
- Counseling Affidavit
- Disclosures Telephone Counseling
- Customers' Rights
After completion, please mail, fax, or email them to proceed with arranging an appointment.

Phone and in-person guidance will incur a cost of $50. Internet guidance costs $45. If you meet certain requirements, you can request the cancellation of this charge. To be evaluated by CONSUMER, fill out the Request for Cancellation. If you do not meet the requirements for cancellation, proceed to the Online Education section. Once you choose the course and make the payment, you will be able to register and you will receive an email with the access link.
